This was a truely lovely house to stay in. They had thought of all the needs one might have when staying there. It was lovely to arrive and have breakfast sorted so we didn't need to pop out to the supermarket that evening. I loved reading the history of the house and about the renovations they had undertaken. Thanks for sharing the lovely cottage with us.
The house is nicely renovated however we had questioned the owner about road noise, to which Sue replied that it was not a problem. We found it was noisy, even in the back bedrooms. The outdoor area was particularly noisy. We appreciated the owners enabling us to use the garage. We also had security issues with our rental car on the street out the front.
The property is OK, located on a busy road with views of a container terminal. Hair in the bathroom, dirty carpets, and dirty laundry from previous guests does not reflect the standard being advertised. Be careful as actual tariff is higher than advertised. Breakfast basket and bottle of local wine was kindly provided.
These guests did NOT stay at Gibson Cottage, they stayed at Drewitt Cottage and were the most selfish and arrogant guests we've ever had in 12 years of running our cottage accommodation. The cottage was spotless as it always is for guests and their feedback is completely dishonest apart from the section about the breakfast basket and wine. Arrived 9 hours late at 11pm and were miffed that we weren't still there waiting for them. Would strongly recommend NOT having these people to stay.
