Description

Gibson Cottage was built by one of Nelson's first settlers, John Gibson in 1843. It has been beautifully restored and is a very comfortable and wonderful place to stay for up to 6 guests. It is private but close to neighbourhood amenities of an excellent coffee shop, dairy, acclaimed Nelson's waterfront restaurants and Nelson's best fish and chip shop. It is also less than 2 minutes walk to Blackmore Cottage if you have friends or relations staying there. A 10 minute flat walk to central Nelson or the Trafalgar Centre.

Enjoy being part of history with all the modern comforts of modern day life - most guests regard it as the best ever accommodation they have stayed in - many come back again and again.

Perfect for a holiday or for a business trip - spotlessly clean and well maintained and renowned for all the extras that are provided.

10 minutes flat walk to Nelson's famous Saturday markets, easy walk to yacht club and marina. On the Nelson cycle trail and a bus stop less than 100 metres away. We can provide safe lockable bike storage and have 6 basic bikes and bike helmets available for guests to use.

Children aged 6 and over welcome.

All guests are provided with a complimentary bottle of Nelson wine and a full breakfast basket as well as teas and coffees.

The comment we get the most: what amazingly comfortable beds and what a stunning restoration - we'll be back.

If you need accommodation for more than 6 people or want more than 3 bedrooms we suggest you book nearby Blackmore Cottage as well; its less than 2 minutes walk away.

Easy place to find, lovely property, does overlook working port so views & road noise not ideal but still great place to stay with lots of fascinating history to the house. House decorated & fitted out beautifully but beds VERY soft.

Beautiful accommodation! Very clean and comfortable, abundance of towels provided, the breakfast basket was an awesome touch - perfect for a bunch of hungry returning hikers. Loved the history and the amount of work gone into restoring these old homes. Would definitely stay again.
