Bach or holiday home | National Park | #26591
This bach is spacious - 5 bedrooms (all carpeted except one rimu floor) and a large lounge. Perfect for a couple or the whole family. The floors have been restored to their original polished rimu and the beautiful traditional coal range provides heating and cooking - makes the best roasties! We supply wood, but bring manuka if you want an infusion of fabulous flavor. Most of the bach is native timbers, and these have been exposed where possible for an ambiance befitting a building built circa 1900.

Great location I have stayed here 3 times. Twice for skiing and once for the Tongariro crossing. It is a super place for 1-3 families. Big house. Loved the place for skiing, great heat pump, fire, heaters, drying areas and SPACE + no slippery carparks! Cant rate the space enough, older character house with good vibes. The railway line, 1 min from the house, my kids found quite a few secret mountain bike maintained tracks that off shoot from the line. Great place for kids & nana
I would stay here again but not in winter. The pros: Large enough for big groups, big dining table, good counterspace in kitchen, novelty of coal range, wetback for nice hot water for all, heatpump, close to mountain, two bathrooms, cheap to rent. The cons: VERY cold in winter (especially the back part of the house), bedroom heaters on short timers, no electric blankets, cold beds. Basically, this place would be great in summer but if you want warmth in winter then it's a nah!
We had a great holiday, was a really good property with enough bedrooms for all of the extended family. Really well equipped place with everything we needed. Raurimu is a great place for a nice chilled out holiday with good mountain biking and walking tracks close by. Thanks for a great stay.
This bach was great for our group of 11 as there are plenty of bedroom options as well as two separate bathrooms. The kitchen and living room are spacious and include a long table. The heat pump and coal range kept us really warm as did the individual heaters in bedrooms. The hotties were an extra bonus at night. The bach is close to the National Park village and ideal if you want to walk the Tongariro Crossing as we did. Thank you everything was great.
