Bach or holiday home | Lake Tarawera | #26626
Smoked Trout is a 3 bedroom 2 bathroom Lake Tarawera bach. A comfortable, older style bach located in a peaceful, bush-clad site across the road from Lake Tarawera, enjoy magnificent views of the lake from this!
This Lake Tarawera bach is a comfortably furnished two level home. On the upper level there is a lounge, two bedrooms, 1 with a queen bed and 1 with 2 bunks plus a trundle bed (Please note that double bedroom is accessed via the bunk room) and a bathroom. You will find the kitchen, dining, master bedroom and a utility room on the ground level. Outside, there is a big deck with a double carport. There is also a pull-out couch in the lounge. Note that a balustrade for the deck is currently being pursued so possibly this property is not suitable for children under 6years old.
Please be mindful of the steps leading to the second floor as these are quite steep and could be dangerous for young children. There is boat parking at the top of the elevated driveway but is not suitable for a large boat (a boat up to 5.5m is fine) and you will need to back out as there is not room to turn around.
Lake Tarawera has pristine water quality and is well known for its excellent trout fishing. This bach is ideal for kicking back and letting life slow right down. Blue Lake and Lake Okareka are nearby and perfect for all boating activity - particularly water skiing and biscuiting! Take out the single Kayak (lifejackets included) for a great day in the water and sun! For a chill-out at the house, enjoy an extensive collection of books, videos and board games!
Across the lake is the outlet, where the walkway follows what is commonly known as the disappearing stream. Walk further down the track and you descend down a cliff face, and once at the bottom you can look back and see the disappearing stream re-appear. This cliff face has a waterfall.
This Lake Tarawera accommodation is also close to the famous buried village.
Welcome to a piece of paradise at Lake Tarawera.
Special conditions: Steps leading to second floor are quite steep and could be dangerous for young children. Carpet at the top of the stairs is becoming threadbare, extra caution is required. There is no mobile reception at this property There are a variety of lifejackets in different sizes available for guest use with the kayak Ample boat parking at top of steep driveway although not suitable for a large boat Minimum nights, cleaning costs, a service fee and other special conditions may apply. This Bach has received 5 stars from me because of the view. Every time we walked out on to the deck we were consistently blown away. A mere 15 minutes from Rotorua and next to beautiful lakes, the location was perfect. The Bach is dated but quirky. The split level accommodation with 2 bathrooms provided privacy for both parties. This Bach had everything we needed and then some. Fireplace, comfy beds and hot showers. Am already planning to rebook for next year.
This bach has outstanding views and is very private. My brother-in-law had to fix the oven door as it would not shut completely. Only one element on the stove worked - two elements had no thermostat and stayed on full - one element did not work at all. Our Bachcare manager was to return with more rubbish bags but didn't ...
We had an amazing, comfortable stay. The beds were so comfy. Each of us commented on how great the sleep was the following morning and after our day travelling about were happy to know that on return to the bach we would be enjoying our sleep once again. We found the bach homely and typically kiwi comfort which suited our needs and budget and would happily stay again. It is wonderfully set in bushland surroundings, relaxing, with the most beautiful view of Lake Tarawera.
