This is a perfect location to base yourself for family, fishing or hunting adventures while exploring the East Cape.

The cottage is located on our family farm and is so close to Rangitukia Beach and the mouth of the Waiapu River, a great surf casting beach (not safe for swimming) or drive to Hicks Bay, Te Araroa, Lottin Point or south to Tokomaru Bay for alternative fishing spots.

Locally there is Horse Trekking and the Paikea Trail.

Rangitukia settlement is the home of George Nepia (All Black) and the local rugby club hosts games most Saturdays in winter. It is home to local Marae and has its own historic church which has been recently renovated.

TikiTiki is 5 mins drive with the Historic St Mary's Church. Some of the finest Manuka Honey is produced in this area.

Local East Coast attractions are easy drives away - Walk up the Lighthouse at Te Araroa, visit Ruatoria, climb Mt Hikurangi and find your favourite beach.

  • Homely base for exploring the East Cape

Homely base for exploring the East Cape. Everything we needed, kitchen was well stocked. There was a good guide to local attractions and services. Plenty to read. Sunny with nice outdoor areas.

  • The house was comfortable and well kept

The house was comfortable and well kept. Not 'flash' but very homely and with everything we needed. The location was perfect for us to use as a base and we were able to relax totally and enjoy interacting with lovely folk in the close-knit community. Brenda's sister, Rimini, welcomed us and kept in touch to make sure we were comfortable.
