Your hosts Steve and Clare are only too happy to help with anything and are always in contact with our guests via a radio in the bach.

Steve manages the farm you will be staying on and is always keen to answer any questions about the 500-hectare sheep and beef property.

The Hoteo River walk: 4-5hrs return

The duration of this walk is set on the family farm where you are staying.

Following the river upstream you will pass over farmland and beside several beautiful rapids before getting to the riparian restoration project that the family has started on the riverbank.

Highlights include a log bridge crossing and a rest spot amongst the trees at the riparian area.

Special conditions:

We encourage families to stay but please be aware there is a stream only 50 meters from the hut. This is a hazard for small children and toddlers.

The bach is on a working farm, there are farm hazards outside of the bach section and on the walkways.

The bach is situated 10 minutes walk from the end of the road.

In dry conditions cars can get to the bach, however in wet conditions you will park your vehicle in our section and Steve will transport you and all your gear free of charge.

Extras: Linen (included); NOTE: Under Kiwi bach tradition you are expected to: Clean the house and do the dishes before you leave;

  • I'm not sure where to start

    I'm not sure where to start. This property is literally a little slice of heaven. Beautiful and relaxing and perfect for any occasion. There were 10 of us staying and we are still literally on cloud 9 from our stay. Every one of us has already talked about returning with our family, friends and significant others. It is that good. A hidden little gem. There weren't enough stars. Honestly couldn't rave about it or recommend it enough
