Bach or holiday home | Anakiwa | #2731
The slight elevation of this private property enables magnificent views right up Queen Charlotte Sound and also across to the Grove Arm and the start of the Queen Charlotte track. In the distance you can see as far as the ferries heading toward Tory Channel.
The house is fully equipped for year round enjoyment with a kitchen, television, VCR, DVD player, stereo (iPod docking) BBQ, and full laundry facilities. It is a 400-metre walk to the jetty at Tirimoana and a ten minute walk to Anikiwa and the start of the Queen Charlotte track.
The sheltered beaches and bays of the area are ideal for swimming or kayaking and are home to many fish, sea birds, dolphins and world famous Sounds scallops. There's a small private bush walk on the property and from the deck you can look down to our own private mooring, which can be made available for your use.
It’s a five minute drive to the nearest garage/dairy and the ‘Country Inn’ with pub meals and off sales. Enjoy the tranquility, or explore the nearby towns of Havelock (15 mins. - 18.5km), Picton (30 mins - 23.5km), Blenheim’s vineyards (40 mins) and Nelson (75 mins).
The property is ideal throughout the year. A haven during the summer and a well insulated sun trap to enjoy the stunning winter days in the Sounds.

No complaints. Everything was clean, comfortable and accessible. One tiny point could be that directions to the house are great until you get to the driveway, but it is slightly tricky to then find the house itself (several properties on the same driveway). The location is excellent for getting to the Queen Charlotte Track and other areas. I would suggest self-catering as the nearest pub has very mixed reviews and it is quite a drive to either Havelock or Picton to any other restaurant.
