Stay at Tahi New Zealand in our self-contained beach cottage.
Tara cottage is part of the 256ha Tahi ecological sanctuary, including restored wetlands, lakes and forests. Our group of 5 was very comfortable staying at Tara - although small, the cottage was clean, tidy and very well equipped (with some friendly horses in the paddock next door!). Tahi itself is beautiful - we would recommend the various walks, and definitely take the bikes out for a ride through the property. The nearby estuary was a fantastic spot for a swim, and to top it all off, we very much enjoyed breakfast at the Tahi Cafe on our last morning. I'd love to come back!
Tara at Tahi was lovely! A cute old cottage which was immaculate and well renovated whilst preserving its charm. It had everything my husband and baby could need. The cafe was great, we went for a lovely walk around the estate. the beach was beautiful and the estuary only a few minutes drive away. Highly recommended for couples or small families!
Great cottage - very clean, very nicely decorated and just the right size for our family of 2 adults and 1 child (7 years); well-equipped kitchen and very nice bathroom. Just note there is no washing machine or dishwasher, but this did not pose an issue for us when staying at Tara for 7 days. Good location; close to Pataua's sandy beaches and hardly anyone else there during our stay - easy 5 minute walk through the reserve. Very friendly neighbours: lots of Pukekos welcoming us in the morning.
