Description

Waipatiki is a beautiful sandy surf beach which looks towards Napier City with Cape Kidnappers beyond.

The beach is great for those who are keen surfers or just try the lagoon and river for a splash around with the little ones. You can try out our kayak on the river or give it a go in the waves.

There are good, well maintained walking tracks in the bush and along the coast and the mountain bike tracks are easily accessible.

With Napier being just 20 minutes away Waipatiki makes an great base to explore the region's wineries and other attractions.

You need to be organised as there are no shops in Waipatiki but this makes it easy to unwind and really escape from work as cellphone coverage is poor.

I would not recommend staying at the property at this time of year as the property is lacking sunshine and very damp. It would be great in February. The shower is lacking pressure.

    Owner/manager responds:

The Bach is tucked into a hillside which provides a great sea view but in winter the sun is lost from mid April to mid August. We have installed a gas infinity hot water system which has vastly improved the shower pressure.

  • The property was nice and comfortable

The property was nice and comfortable. However the shower was very inadequate and there were a few things that we thought could have been better, attention to detail. Arriving at an extremely overgrown garden and extremely dirty outside table were slight disappointments

  • It was very comfortable

It was very comfortable. Everything we required. Loved the location. Close to the bush on the extremely hot days that we were there. The kids loved the kereru and tui in the trees by the deck. Awesome few days.

  • The house was a great place to stay in

The house was a great place to stay in. It was very accommodating and had everything we needed. We loved spending evenings on the deck with the Tui and Wood pigeons flying around. Great views of the beach.
