Bach or holiday home | Mahakipawa Arm | #27500
A relaxing, tidy, waterfront, sunny, property with stunning views of Mahakipawa Sound and surrounding bush clad hills from the extensive sunny deck, living areas and main bedroom.
An original 50's Kiwi bach, which has been modestly upgraded, yet retaining its charm. Drive on access with parking for several cars and only a 10 minute drive to Havelock for top up supplies.
The more recently built, sunny sleep out (4th bedroom), can accommodate the extra family or teenagers. It has even been used as a recording studio for home grown band 'Little Oceans' (Check out the soundtrack on youtube for 'Eyes Closed' with visuals from this bach!).
Steps (steep) lead from the garden to the water at high tide. At low tide there are plenty of alternative beaches and rivers within close proximity. The mud is fun too!!
The outdoor, wood fired bath, is a perfect way to end the day and gaze at the unpolluted night sky.
There is a boat launching ramp at Moenui and an all tide, commercial ramp in Havelock (see photos). The bach has a mooring available.
An abundance of local adventures and exploration - hike or bike the extensive Link Pathway from Moenui and other world class tracks, sea kayaking, Mail boat cruise, wine tastings, Omaka Air Force Museum, good coffee and green lipped mussels from the various Havelock cafes. In winter check out Rainbow ski field.
Ideally located for local events such as Mussel Festival, Omaka Air Show, The Grape Ride and Whites Bay Enduro.
This central location makes it easy to explore Nelson (1hr) Picton (35mins), Marlborough Sounds, Nelson Lakes, Richmond Range and much more.
Spark phone coverage in Moenui fluctuates, but best to assume no coverage
Deck and section not suitable for unsupervised small children
Wheelchair access is good to the house, but bathroom facilities unsuitable and 2 step split level between living and kitchen (have had a wheel chair bound guest staying, who made it work)
Some pets may be accommodated by prior arrangement

Loved it, will be back!!
Awesome view, lovely private waterfront setting with gorgeous deck and close to Havelock for top up of groceries. Bach was well stocked and had everything we needed. Great to have a mooring but be prepared for the tides if you don’t want to wade thru the mud! Kids loved the kayaks although steps are pretty steep to cart them up and down. Fun to explore the beach at low tide. Great to catch a few cod but be prepared to travel to find them. Great classic kiwi bach, much enjoyed by us.
Property has an awesome view. Would love to see it in the summer. Well set out with games, TV/DVD's, canoes, outside seating area, fruit trees and bird song. 40 minutes from Picton, 30 minutes to Blenheim, 1 hour to Nelson and 5-10 minutes from local Havelock which has a Four Square shop for food, etc.
