Description

  • 2 min walk to ocean, 2 minute drive to Tuateawa boat ramp, 10 minutes to beautiful Kennedy Bay beach
  • Native bush with amazing bird life - Tuis galore, wood pigeons, quails, and a gang of cheeky Kakas
  • Very special outside room with its own deck and tea/coffee making facilities

This property is not brand new and does not have motel/hotel type facilities but it is the type of bach that most of us know and love. Nestled in native bush with amazing bird life - Tuis galore, wood pigeons, quails, and a gang of cheeky Kakas.

The bach is a two storied open plan property.

The french doors open up onto a sunny deck facing native bush. Both upstairs and downstairs areas have amazing views of the native bush and bird life.

Tuateawa is approx. 30 minutes drive from Coromandel town. The house is close to so many amazing beaches and coastline. A perfect spot for surfing, diving, fishing, tramping, snorkling or just relaxing.

The Tuateawa boat ramp is a 2 minute drive away and can be used to launch smaller aluminium boats, whilst Kennedy Bay is only a 10 minute drive away and offers a very spacious and safe sandy beach that you can drive down on to.

There is a filleting bench and large fish smoker, but if that sounds like to much hard work there is a large hammock that is ready and waiting for you.

Whilst the only seaviews are from the driveway, the secluded bush setting provides for complete privacy and shelter from the wind but within easy walking/driving distance to the ocean and beaches.

A few days at this bach and you will feel refreshed and completely relaxed.

Please note: Visitors to this property are required to clean up and leave the property as found please.

Special conditions: Smoking outside ok Property is family friendly but not well suited to toddlers due to stairs and deck No parties or overnight guests beyond those booked.

Awesome location nestled in the bush amazing bird life very private , short walk to sea , probally not ideal to just walk down for swim with young kids , but Kennedys bay was great safe swimming and you could always find a sheltered spot even when windy

  • Location was good - close to wedding venue

Location was good - close to wedding venue. Kitchen and dining room satisfactory not modern or luxurious. Upstairs bedroom needs side tables and a larger mirror. Underbed storage made it difficult to clean. Accumulated dust makes unhealthy environment. Downstairs bedroom had bits of gib board and other rubbish under the bed which also had a large build-up of dust. The mattress had bed bugs and no insect screens to allow fresh air at night. Many mosquitoes. Pod very good.

    Owner/manager responds:

Thanks for your feedback. Not sure what to say other than in no way ever in a million years are there bed bugs now or ever in any part of our Bach. It's very upsetting that such a claim would be made especially for others to see. I don't know what you may have experienced to make you think that (mosquitos??) however the mattresses are new and given I have stayed there personally a tonne of times I can say without a shadow of a doubt you did not experience bed bugs.

  • Neat little cottage tucked away in amongst native bush

Neat little cottage tucked away in amongst native bush. Although there was no easy access to a swimming beach near the property, there were fabulous sandy beaches just 10-15 minutes away. Lovely secluded spot with good cooking facilities. Thanks for sharing

  • Very nice place in a relatively remote part of New Zealand

Very nice place in a relatively remote part of New Zealand. The two-storey tall bach is cosy, There is also a separate pod / mini cottage, which sleeps two. All in the midst of native forest, with frequent visits from kereru, kaka and tui birds. Not far from a nice swimming beach (12 min drive).
