If you are into tramping there is the Kahurangi National Park, there are the golden beaches and kayaking in the Abel Tasman, Kaiteriteri is only a 30 minute drive from here.
The national cycle way is at your doorstep. You can cycle down to Mapua wharf in 10 mins (or 20 mins walk) to catch the ferry across to Rabbit Island. Bike hire is available in Mapua.

There are a number of shortcomings. It could be cleaner, lack of lampshades, a bit tatty, lack of wi fi, lack of hanging space, grass needed cutting, overgown dining area and so on. In fairness there are positives, nice towels, a good view, mapua wharf is lovely but it is too far to walk to easily. However, the building work and subsequent unpleasantness when we made our views know just spoilt the experience, understandably
The cottage is professionally cleaned after every tenancy & has a regular gardener - just as well as these guests breached rules & allowed a dog on the property. Mapua Wharf is an easy 25 minute walk for able bodied people. These guests harassed me on my personal email address wanting $$. Very unpleasant. I had to block their bullying emails hence their negative feedback. Please read the 100% positive comments re me & cottage has had from everyone else over 4yrs.
