Farmstay | Cambridge | #29197
If you want a quiet and rural stay, we are your kind of place!
Alba Cottage is a simple yet comfortable self-contained cottage on our small lifestyle farm where we produce our own meat and vegetables. We also roast our own coffee which we sell in Cambridge 6 days a week. The kitchen has a kettle, toaster, microwave and two ring hot plate. We supply tea, freshly roasted coffee, sugar, salt, pepper and cooking oil but are happy to help you out if you need a pinch of something else! There is a sunny, private deck where you can sit and enjoy breakfast or a cup of coffee, often accompanied by one of our dogs.
You will need to appreciate friendly animals as we have heaps - apart from the dogs and cat, there are hens, ducks, pigs, sheep and miniature cattle, most of which enjoy nothing better than having their tummies scratched! If Henrietta and friends have been busy, there may even be fresh eggs for breakfast.
You are welcome to use our family swimming pool in the summer or have a private soak in our fresh-water hot tub. Use of our chest freezer or washing machine are available for longer stays.
Alba Cottage is situated only 10 minutes drive from Cambridge and about the same distance from Lake Karapiro so is convenient for both the Velodrome or any boating activities. Mystery Creek is about 15 minutes away and a trip to the beach on either coast is a pleasant 1 hour's drive.
Special conditions: A small single bed for a child may be added on request.

Location was fantastic, you are out of town but not to far. The property is well kept. The bed was not quite what we are used to as it was only a double bed but short stays you could live with this. We really enjoyed our stay, they left us alone to our own devices and when we asked for something, it wasn't a problem. The fresh ground coffee was a bonus and they were happy for us to have some of their fruit while we were there. A bag of roasted coffee was much appreciated when we left.
Glad you enjoyed your stay. We have thought about changing the bed for a Queen but it would then leave little room for the single bed which we supply when guests have a toddler. Thanks for the tip re the toilet seat - brand new one now fitted ready for your next visit! Hope you enjoy your Solar Coffee.
