Being slightly up the hill instead of on the waterfront you can enjoy the view without the noise.
Walk or bike the Queen Charlotte Track, go kayaking, or fishing. Visit the lovely Marlborough vineyards and do some wine tasting, or visit the artisan markets in Blenheim all just a 30 minute drive away.
