Quaint and special. Had a real rustic feel to the place with a good heart. Will be even better once the house is completed, and all the small little conveniences put in and the garden tidied up so it is more user friendly in the summer months. We could see this was a reno in progress with a very special cause so this made the stay lovely. We loved the attention to the bed linen, and other features which maintains a sense of history and charm. Great location, close to amenities.
This house is so delightfully old worlde, but with a modern twist. Our family loved staying here. It was close to town and within walking distance of some great tourist spots and cafes etc. The house is large with great amenities (the ensuite has huge roll top bath!) and is beautifully restored and decorated, making sure to leave remnants of its history visible and in tact. If you want a unique holiday experience and appreciate Akaroa's history and character you will love this house.
