Bach or holiday home | Greymouth | #30014
Bush Bach is tucked away up the hill in Cobden - the highest house.
It's nestled in to the Rapahoe scenic reserve, an area of stunning untouched bush, with mature forest including Nikau palms and Kiekie.
From the house are great views of the reserve and the surf at Cobden beach, a renown boardriding spot. There are great little viewing spots all over the section (1 hectare) which look directly over the Grey river and mouth, all the way down the west coast to Mts Cook and Tasman.
If you like to walk, run, or mountain bike, there is unlimited scope. 22 walks within a ten minute drive, including the stunning Point Elizabeth walkway and Coal Creek falls. The new West Coast cycleway from Greymouth to Hokitika starts just down the road!
If you want to drive a little further, there are gems within 40 minutes such as Punakaiki, Nelsons Creek, and Lake Brunner.
Greymouth itself has a lot of charm, once you know your way around. The fishing port, and the headlands on both sides of the Grey rivermouth are must sees. The Montieths brewery tour, with samples, is a cracker, and the cafes and bars are great fun.
The famous Transalpine railway is a short walk away, or a couple of minutes in a taxi.
Special conditions: There is a flight of steps up to the house from the parking area.

Our accommodation was really charming and cosy and we really enjoyed being able to spread out. The view is spectacular and it's lovely to eat breakfast to a view like that. The beds were lovely and comfortable and an ensuite to the second bedroom is really handy. The kitchen is very well appointed also. We fired up the wood heater when we were there, and enjoyed a very comfortable evening.
