Wairoro Part is a unique holiday experience with absolute private beachfront, native bush walks through Kiwi habitat, on a 64 acre coastal estate near Russell Bay of Islands. At Wairoro Park you'll enjoy luxurious holiday home accommodation at an affordable rate, in a peaceful and tranquil location. Thanks to our extensive grounds and the fact that we own the beach dogs are allowed off leash provided they are under their owners control and in their sight. Take a step back in time to 1970 for a real New Zealand holiday atmosphere and relaxed hospitality.

We have a large sloping lawn and flat grassed area above the beach for families to play and relax. On the beachfront there are a number of sun loungers and beach chairs. We have kayaks, a dingy, 1.5 tonne mooring, lifejackets, table tennis, books and games available for guest use.

The Russell to Okiato walk crosses the rear of the property running through regenerating Kiwi habitat. Wairoro Park has placed Approximately 1/3 of the property into QE2 trust, to protect this valuable habitat for perpetuity. Around the Chalet you may be lucky enough to hear Kiwi night and see Weka during the day.

The accommodation: Our A-frame chalets (3 in total) offer sea and beach views. Upstairs there is one double bedroom with a king sized bed. The second bedroom has two king singles. It is possible to make up a double bed in the downstairs lounge from a fold out sofa to accommodate two additional persons if required. There is a fully equipped kitchen, open plan lounge and dining area. A full bathroom including separate shower and spa bath. There is a covered deck with a BBQ and deck furniture. We supply towels and linen.

Wairoro Park has been owned by the Boerop family since 1971, with Beryl now retired and living on the property and happy to answer and questions.

We are able to accommodate larger groups by arrangement.

Special conditions: Pets are welcome. Smoking outside only Batch is one of 3 A-frames on Wairoro Park. Guests share several acres of lawn and facilities with renters of the other batches. We can accommodate various pets but they must be safe and friendly to children. Can rent the property for larger groups or low key-affordable/casual functions

A great property for dog lovers, was a real treat to be able to take out 2 dogs on holiday with us. The Chalet was perfect for our needs with two kids in tow, only minor negative was all the cutlery and dishes were filthy and needed rewashing. Overall a pleasant stay.

  • Very disappointed at comment from Margo stating we are difficult payers

Very disappointed at comment from Margo stating we are difficult payers. We have travelled South Island extensively using booking.com. Also North Island using many different vendors through booking.com. We have never had any problems. Is there any recourse for us as we feel our reputation has been damaged unnecessarily through someone else's incompetence.
