Situated in the heart of the Bay of Islands on 3.5 acres of private land, we are proud to present the rare and beautiful Oke Bay Lodge, just 35 minutes from NZ’s first capital, Russell.

A 120 year old, two storey kauri historic villa in the perfect spot for your family re-union, boutique wedding, or time away with friends.

Being absolute water front, and situated on a narrow strip of land between two beaches, you’ll enjoy expansive views of the entrance to the Bay of Islands, Cape Brett Peninsula, and the Pacific Ocean. Tucked in a sun soaked pocket of native bush, you’ll love the privacy and peace that this property offers.

There’s all you need to relax here, including a brand new well equipped kitchen, and three new bathrooms. You’ll relish the slipper bath! The whole places oozes character and charm.

With beds inside for 12 people, and lots of room on the front lawn for the kids in their tents, it’s the perfect holiday location.

With huge decks back and front, there’s oodles of space for entertaining, plus a large lawn area for summer games. Kayaks, snorkelling gear, and fishing rods are also available.

Oke Bay Lodge is paradise if you are into walking and biking. It’s located right at the beginning of the Cape Brett walking track, rated one of the best 100 in the world – plus there are many other walks and trails nearby. Oke Bay is right here - a world class beach with incredible diving, snorkelling, kayaking, child safe swimming and fishing. Swim with dolphins if you are lucky!

Have a boat? Great! Anchor it right in front of the Lodge on the Lodge’s private mooring.

Is fishing your thing? The fishing in this area is known to be the best in NZ!

With off street parking for up to 8 cars the whole package is totally unique and absolutely amazing.

Only 1 hour from Whangarei and 3 hours from Auckland.

We have found from experience that what usually happens when guests stay is that extras end up coming and some expected guests do not turn up. In other words, final numbers don't always match the numbers estimated in the original booking.

So we ask people to keep a record when they are actually staying at the Lodge of the number of people who stay each night and then do a tally at the very end to work out the final cost. This works well.

Hope that makes sense.

The NZ Herald recently did a video about the Russian Billionaires mansion which is not far down the coast from us. The guy on the video mentions that the coastline where Oke Bay Lodge is situated is rated by National Geographic Travel Magazine as the 2nd equal most beautiful coastline in the world. http://www.nzherald.co.nz/business/news/article.cfm?c_id=3&objectid=11565728

Oke Bay Lodge is one of the best places we've stayed at - lovingly restored gorgeous historic building, extremely well set up with everything you'd need, stunning views, able to cater for large numbers of people easily (we had 15) and easy walking distance to one of NZ's most stunning beaches - kid friendly and great snorkelling. We would love to come back again.

  • The Oke lodge at Rawhiti welcomes you with its heritage of time...

The Oke lodge at Rawhiti welcomes you with its heritage of time woven into its presence, and the caring details that went into the renovation takes you back to a simpler time when there were few visitors to this region. While the boat tours offer a glimpse of this gorgeous area, the lodge lives it; where quiet and serene are the norm. The lodge is well equipment an modernize to meet your every need. We found the beds very comfortable, the kitchen well equipment, minus a few sharper knives for cooking, the front porch ideal to watch the bay and read a book, and the shaded patio perfect for lunch and dreams of staying longer. Easy access to the Oke bay feels like jumping into your own private beach from a travel magazine. It just does not get much better than this. There are two breathtaking walks right off the property, that reveal both sides of the peninsula, and access to Russell and Paihia for shopping make for a great day outing. Julian is super to work with, cares deeply for this
