Cottage | Carterton | #30440
RiverView is a warm and welcoming family home overlooking expansive farm land, river boundary and views across the Tararua ranges.
If you are looking for an antidote to city living then you have just found it.
The Wairarapa region is well known for great food, wine and boutique shopping experiences. If you can drag yourself away from staring at the view from the veranda, RiverView is just 15 minutes easy driving to Martinborough, 15 minutes to Greytown and 10 minutes to Carterton.
Dogs may be welcome on agreement with the owner and must hold up to date vaccination and worming certificates.
Special conditions: RiverView is a working farm and therefore guests are asked to ensure that all gates are closed and no stock is disturbed. Dogs may be able to stay with guests (an outside kennel is on site) however this is only by prior arrangement with owner. There is a river boundary (great shallow river swimming and Trout fishing) and a small irrigation lake on the farm. Children must be well supervised at all times.

We have now rented this property twice and will definitely be coming back. The views over the valley are awesome, there is easily enough room for two families, and our kids loved riding their bikes around the paddocks and playing on the trampoline. We were even lucky enough to bottle-feed some newborn lambs and feed the alpacas.
This is a large house that Lester lives in when it is not rented so his bath towels, shoes and food are in the place. It is set up so his bedroom has the television in it (with v poor reception and 3 channels). The kitchen bathroom floors are half finished and the place was not clean when we arrived, there was no toilet paper or matches to light the fire on a really cold day. There was wood for the fire but we had to ring him to find out where- might be good for kids and large families but $185
Riverview farm is truely a little slice of paradise!! The house was a lot more spacious than it looked in the pictures and very clean and tidy. The views from the window seat and the verandah are amazing and we found ourselves not wanting to go anywhere. The children loved exploring the farm but a favourite for everyone was the star gazing and marshmallow toasting at night. We will definitely be back. Will be great to take a dip in the river in summer, was a bit to chilly in June.
