Historical farm house with a character and recently reconditioned original wooden floors. The name of the house is 'The Shearers Quarters' and it's one of the oldest houses in the area. It's a place to relax and enjoy the outdoors all around. The beach is only 10 minutes drive away and offers good surfing, fishing etc.
The house is on the bottom of 'Battery Hill', also known as Kakahimakatea Hill, wich is one of the archaeological sites of Wairarapa Moana and offers spectacular views of the whole Wairarapa Valley.
Enjoy the peace and quite and forget the city stress, make the most of the great outdoors and relax by the cozy fireplace in the evening. Have the place to yourselves and make it your home for a night or many.
DOC walking track into the Rimutaka forest (approx 2 hour return walk) start point is close by, about 1 km from the house towards town on the left side of the road.

Lovely away from it all rustic not flash bach with all you need, restful surrounds with awesome views from the walk over the hills of the property, night skies were stunning and the first night we could see the milky way really clearly. A nice restful get-a-way and couple of days.
