The cottage is as advertised: well kept and on a farm, though quite private from the other residences on the land. The well kept gardens and mountain views are awesome. It is right across the 'lane' from the chicken coup and a 30 second walk to see sheep, pigs, cows and deer. We were able to observe some farming activities, bringing in sheep and moving them around some paddocks, a real treat for city dwellers. My two young girls loved feeding the chickens every morning and evening!
What an incredible spot! We loved staying here - hens to provide eggs for breakfast, pigs to feed, sheep in the paddocks, a roaring warm wood fire to come home to - and the huge bonus of an amazing view with ruapehu as a backdrop! The cottage was also spotlessly clean, comfy beds and well furnished. We will definitely be back. Thanks debbie and family for a fanastic stay.
