Description

  • Private Beach on a 64 hectare coastal estate.
  • Pets are welcome all year and stay in the accommodation with you.
  • Kayaks, life jackets and dingy complimentary for guests. 1.5 tonne mooring 150m off the beach.

Wairoro Part is a unique holiday experience with absolute private beachfront, native bush walks through Kiwi habitat, on a 64 acre coastal estate near Russell Bay of Islands. At Wairoro Park you'll enjoy luxurious holiday home accommodation at an affordable rate, in a peaceful and tranquil location. Thanks to our extensive grounds and the fact that we own the beach dogs are allowed off leash provided they are under their owners control and in their sight. Take a step back in time to 1970 for a real New Zealand holiday atmosphere and relaxed hospitality.

We have a large sloping lawn and flat grassed area above the beach for families to play and relax. On the beachfront there are a number of sun loungers and beach chairs. We have kayaks, a dingy, 1.5 tonne mooring, lifejackets, table tennis, books and games available for guest use.

The Russell to Okiato walk crosses the rear of the property running through regenerating Kiwi habitat. Wairoro Park has placed Approximately 1/3 of the property into QE2 trust, to protect this valuable habitat for perpetuity. Around the Chalet you may be lucky enough to hear Kiwi night and see Weka during the day.

The accommodation: Our A-frame chalets (3 in total) offer sea and beach views. Upstairs there is one double bedroom with a king sized bed. The second bedroom has two king singles. It is possible to make up a double bed in the downstairs lounge from a fold out sofa to accommodate two additional persons if required. There is a fully equipped kitchen, open plan lounge and dining area. A full bathroom including separate shower and spa bath. There is a covered deck with a BBQ and deck furniture. We supply towels and linen.

Wairoro Park has been owned by the Boerop family since 1970, with Beryl now retired and living on the property and happy to answer and questions.

We are able to accommodate larger groups by arrangement.

  • Fantastic place to stay

Fantastic place to stay. Close enough to Russell so we could pop to the shops but far enough away from the crowds that we felt like we were in a secluded paradise, which indeed we were.

  • Beautiful setting with private shelly beach

Beautiful setting with private shelly beach. Kayaks and dingy a real plus. Good play area and grounds for volleyball, badminton, etc with trampoline on the side and table tennis under shelter. Kids had lots of fun and we enjoyed our stay especially with the sunny weather all week.
