The world renowned Waitomo Caves are right on our doorstep – only a 12 minute drive away. Here you can visit the Glowworm Cave, abseil into the Lost World, experience Blackwater Rafting, among many other activities.

We are approximately 2 hours drive to Auckland airport, Mt Maunganui and Rotorua

1.5 hours to Taupo and Mt Ruapehu ( Tongariro National Park )

1 hour to the West Coast ( Kawhia, Marakopa and Mokau )

Things to do include Waitomo = Caves (including Glowworm), Black Water Rafting, Bush Walks, Lost Word Abseil,

Mangapohue Natural Bridge, Marakopa Falls, Barry Blacks Kiwi Culture Show and much more

Mokau = Swimming in the sea, Black sand, Mokau River Cruise

    This property is beautiful! It is every bit as nice as the pictures. We wished we had a reason to stay longer. If you are going to be in the Waitomo area, there is no place that can compare with this. The kitchen was well stocked for breakfast, and we woke up to sheep outside our front door, which was a nice surprise. We stayed in many nice properties during our trip, but we will always have fond memories of our visit to Te Kumi Tirohanga..
