Mount Ruapehu is only a 40 minute drive away where the winter slopes will provide outstanding skiing opportunities. If visiting in the summer there are incredible tracks to walk such as the Tongiriro Crossing. A day tramp that takes you up one side of the mountain and across the top where you will look straight into the crater Lakes...Amazing!!
For those extremely fit mountain bikers we have the Timber Trail. On the 80km journey you will take in incredible country side scenery and go through protected Department of Consevation Land and Native bush, across suspended bridges...it has it all!
We are situated on the the Forgotten World Highway. Should you wish to see the spectacular country side and take in local history either by car or the Forgotten World Adventures Rail Carts.
