  • Sit and enjoy the long sunsets from the back yard, Children Free under 16 as they should be.
  • Walking distance to local dairy, pub/cafe, Charming Creek Walkway, & Ngakwau river for whitebaitin

This house is the host to its very own little blue penguins who live right underneath the kitchen floor.

It is only metres away from the beach and you can lay it bed at night and listen to the tide sweep in and out.

Make your morning coffee and walk 20 steps to the beach whilst the kids play with the sand & stones before breakfast.

5 mins drive or a 15 minute walk will take you to The charming creek walkway. Within 40 mins of the prestine bush walk you will find a swingbridge that looks over to the most amazing waterfall.

Take the kids to the local dairy to get an ice-cream and a $1 mixture then walk across the road to the Ngakwau river where you can have a go at whitebaiting (in the season Sept/Oct) or just fish for herrings off the bridge.

If your peckish grab a quick pint & some fish in chips from the local pub/café and head back to the river. 7 mins south head into Granity for your coffee fix at the local café, then take a look at the talent at the local arts & crafts gallery, then check for any bargains and meet the local ladies across the road at the Granity Op shop. Check out the local museum and admire some of the old historical buildings such as The Lyric Theatre which still runs theatre plays. Take a drive 8 kms up the Millerton Hill and explore Millertons tracks. Walk up the steps to the old bathhouse and get a sense of the old miners who used to trample this walk everyday rain, fog , snow or sunshine. Book the family in Outwest tours and take a tour of the largest open cast mine in the country. Tours are very informative, lots of fun and very cheap! Heading south you can explore the Denniston Hill (if you have read the Denniston Rose then this will give you an appreciate of the tough conditions of mining and pioneering of the past). Its a great place to take Moutain Bikes with panoramic views. If its raining (as it does on the coast) there is always the indoor pools and sports centre including squash courts. How bout hunting & fishing!

Special conditions: No Dogs due to endangered penguins & wekas in area. Extra people can be negotiated. (Dependant on own tents, caravans or campervans.)

We had a wonderful time staying at your Bach thank you! It was much more spacious than we'd expected and the yard was a great size to run around with our son. Such an amazing experience hearing the penguins under the house at night and the awesome crash of the waves out the back of the yard. We can't wait to come back and stay again!

  • ROOMY & the beach is “on the back doorstep”

ROOMY & the beach is “on the back doorstep” . Bedrooms are large . Beautiful bush views from Front porch. Negatives? It smells musty. No fish slice, no tongs. No microwave. No TV. No internet. The barbeque was rusted & dirty. Families may find this difficult. The bathroom/toilet/laundry area will be a challenge for many. Old wooden chairs on the deck not safe to sit on. The deck, barbeque area & lawns were overgrown. It IS the West Coast. It DOES rain a lot but it IS BASIC
