Kakahi is a very peaceful place to stay. Beautiful with glimpses of the snow covered mountains. Mike was helpful about the fishing and Manu at the store sold me a couple of killer nymphs. Fishing was great and the Whakapapa River is only a short drive away.
The old Allen homestead is Pure Kakahi heaven! Loved the 'as new' 70s decor throughout, super comfortable beds, brand new sheets - hot blankets were a treat! So much space! Next time we'll be down with the whole family! But it worked perfectly for just the two of us also! Thanks for looking out for us, the veggies from the garden were most appreciated, and the carvings at Maxine and Mikes next to Manu Lalas Kakahi General store cannot be missed! ( not to mention the Glow-worms......) - THANKS
