  • Loved our stay on Kawau with our 2yo and 6mo old

Loved our stay on Kawau with our 2yo and 6mo old. Heaps to do at the bach, walked to Vivian Bay, gorgeous enchanted garden path up behind the house into the bush. Loved the frequent weka visits, especially loved by the 2yo. Enjoyed the kayaks and stingray spotting from the jetty. Found a super swing along a tropical lush bush track just off the property. An island full of surprises and adventure. Oystercatcher's was comfortable, practical...and that view! Love to come back again. We loved it!

  • This is a lovely old fashioned bach

This is a lovely old fashioned bach. It has an amazing location nestled in the bush with the most amazing bird life. The cottage is well equipped with heat pump and all amenities. We felt at home straight away. We were not deprived of anything staying here. I would recommend taking the water taxi as opposed to the ferry. This is a very affordable place to stay on a truely magical island. We wouldn't hesitate to stay here again.

The location is stunning , and filled with birds, in a sheltered bay and accessible by the ferries at all tides. Mansion house took just over 1hr using the kayaks provided! There are walking tracks from the back of the property which can take you to the beautiful beach at Vivian Bay. Follow the pink tape to get to the tracks. The house is a basic kiwi bach. The toilet is outside and shower is in downstairs bedroom. Was perfectly sufficient for us. The heatpump was a lovely surprise too!

The bach was just what we needed: clearly cared for but oldfashioned simple. Thanks for letting us use it! And not to forget the awesome kayaks. That's why this was the third or fourth time we came to stay.
