  • Walk across the road to where the stunning Kawerau river below the house meets the Arrow River
  • Direct access to the Queenstown cycle trail just outside the gate - bike the local wineries & cafes
  • 5 mins drive to historic Arrowtown and local Gibbston wineries, 5 mins walk to the bungy jump!

Your tiny back to basics mountain cottage hideaway is nestled in amongst mature trees on one private acre overlooking the river and picturesque vineyards tucked under the lee of the surrounding mountains. A spa, woodfire and heatpump will keep you warm and toasty in winter and a sundrenched deck and outdoor seating area is the perfect spot to relax during your summer holiday. You may be snowed in during winter, while in spring you can enjoy the flowering cherries, tulips, daffodils and stunning vistas. Arrowtown is a short 5 minute drive away as are the local Gibbston Valley wineries and taverns, or bring your bike and cycle the 40mins along the scenic QT cycle trails in either direction across the 80m Arrow River swing bridge on one side to Arrowtown (or if you're feeling keen further on to Queenstown itself), or the Kawerau Bungy Bridge 400 metres towards Gibbston Valley. Queenstowns international airport is only 15 minutes away and Queenstown central, only 20 minutes. World class ski fields, the Remarkables, Cardrona and Coronet are all around 40 minutes easy drive during winter (make sure you get snow chains on your rental vehicle!). Simple living in a simple (but cosy) cottage and you'll take away great memories of staying in a classic cute kiwi crib among some of the most stunning scenery in the world.

  • Not everyone likes a rustic cottage

Not everyone likes a rustic cottage. The gate to the property which was on a steep hairpin bend was hard to manage. We loved the Spa pool though.

A place for environmentally aware people who are used to recycling, natural cleaning products, can light a log fire and like wildlife. Great view up th Gorge. The cycleway is outside the gate. Handy to Arrowtown. Great selection of books. Really enjoyed our stay.
