Experience the real kiwi country lifestyle in the heart of Atiamuri's dairy, beef & sheep farming community. Set on 14 acres of attractive lifestyle block that we share with our beef cows, horses, chickens, dogs and cats. Our house is designed with Farmstay in mind. You will have your own private wing with 3 large bedrooms, 1 bathroom with both a bath & shower and a large lounge, with flat screen TV, that opens out to your own outdoor area where you can enjoy the fabulous view of Pohaturoa Mountain and gorgeous sunsets. The kitchen extends out into its own dining and lounge area. This area is a shared part of your space where you can enjoy the company of your hosts Liz & John or just spread yourselves out. If booking one room we do not rent out the other rooms to other guests unknown to you, so you don't have to share the amenities with others.

Enjoy peaceful quiet views & sunsets after a day out exploring our geothermal backyard of Waiotapu Thermal Wonderland, soaking in the Waikite Valley Thermal Pools, cycling or walking the Waikato River Trail or enjoying watersports on the lakes. We are located 5 minutes drive off State Highway 1. 39km from Rotorua and 43km from Taupo, the North Islands 2 major tourist locations with all the attractions they have to offer.

We are surrounded by 3 lakes and power stations making this an ideal location for most of your watersport needs whether it’s waterskiing, wakeboarding, barefooting or fishing. If you prefer snow then Whakapapa on Mount Ruapehu is only 2 hours drive away. There are a multitude of other activities to choose from including bungy jumping, high ropes confidence course, mountain biking and geothermal tours in Taupo or the luge, zorb, lions, mountain biking through the Redwoods (one of NZ’s best mountain biking parks) and geothermal tours in Rotorua. The Waitomo Glowworm Caves are a scenic 2 hour drive away and Hobbiton Movie set is 1 hour away.

It's a small working farm 40k south of Rotorua, plenty of friendly dogs around, chooks and cows. Comfortable private accommodation with great views, which is part of the house, sharing the kitchen and laundry. Liz and John are very discreet and will stay out of your way if you want, but meeting people for us is a huge part of the pleasure in traveling.

  • We loved our stay here

We loved our stay here. Very clean and well appointed and fantastic food. John and Liz are great hosts with great tips on where to go in the area. The location was very convenient between Rotorua and Taupo. My kids loved the farm and the dogs. I would highly recommend to anyone wanting to stay here and can't wait to come back.
