Description

  • Backs onto Kuirau Geothermal Park
  • Historical and culturally significant thermal spring on property
  • Only a short walk to Ohinemutu Village

We are located at 12A Tarewa Rd within walking distance to Rotorua Lake Front, Aquatic Centre and right next to Kuirau Park, a family orientated reserve. There are picnic tables and a playground at Kuirau Park, with a local market being held every Saturday morning. Nearby attractions include the agrodome, zorb, rainbow springs and the gondolas.

We offer clean and tidy accommodation with all essentials provided. The property has a unique hot geothermal spring that supplies hot water and thermal heating to the house.

Traditionally this hot spring was used by the local families of the area for cooking, a practise that is continued on special whanau (family) gatherings. This spring has been used for hundreds of years and is unique to the property.

The Maori villiage of Ohinemutu is a short walk where Tama-te-Kapua marae (Maori meeting house) and St Faith’s Anglican Church are located.

There is also the Kuirau Park foot baths (not suitable for bathing) only 400 meters from the property, where you can soak your feet after a day of fun filled activities.

We are located close to a dairy, bakery and takeaways on the corner of Tarewa and Lake Rd (1 minute walk).

Kuirau Park is also used for weddings/photos and other family events and is a popular destination for tourists visiting geothermal activity with no costs involved.

  • What a beautiful house

What a beautiful house. The pictures don't do it justice. Very modern decor, super comfortable beds and extremely clean throughout. The house is thermally heated so is super warm and cozy, just perfect for a winter get away and plenty of hot water. Backs onto Kuirau park so easy to enjoy a lovely walk through the park and the largest pukeko I've ever seen. Much thanks to Koro for showing us how to use their ngawha (geothermal) bath onsite. It was glorious. Our family will definitely be back.

  • The rooms were very spacious and the location was fantastic

The rooms were very spacious and the location was fantastic. The beds were comfortable and the kitchen had what we needed. The house was spotlessly clean. The internet was very slow.

A unique thermal environment right in the heart of Rotorua; offering walks through thermal areas right at your 'doorstep'. A very tidy home that is ideal for families and/or small groups. This home has everything you need, was very comfortable and catered for everyone's needs really well. The location was accessible to all amenities and was easy to find your way around.
