Our Cottage is located in the hill country, 45km north of Dargaville. It is furnished in a charming warm country style that makes you feel welcome from the first moment you enter. Fresh flowers, books, tv, internet, games, toys and coloring books for kids...... our accommodation is fully equipped with just about everything you can think of.
A big deck provides outdoor space for your breakfast in the morning sun or a barbecue watching the sun setting over the farm hills. If you love to watch the stars, there is no light pollution at our location. You are welcome to use the small garden surrounding the cottage, there are even fresh herbs for you to use.
Families are very welcome. There is plentiful space for Kids to play on the deck or lawn. With parental supervision they can discover the paddocks or go and watch the cows being milked at the cowshed.
If you are looking for a place to relax or you are wanting to discover the multiple walking tracks and tourist attractions this area has to offer, you will love our unique little spot.
From the house you can stroll through the farm down to walk the historical Gorge Road which was closed after Cyclone Bola.
Trounson Kauri Park is only 7km down the road from us with its famous Kauri boardwalk. Trounson Park is part of the "Mainland Island" Program which is protecting indigenous key species like the brown kiwi. Here you can book a nightwalk to spot the iconic bird.
The Kai Iwi Lakes are about 30 min drive away and are a beloved Northland destination for swimming, waterskiing, troutfishing and boating.
The nearby Maunganui Bluff walk is a 3-4hour return hike and offers stunning views along the coastline and over the North Kaipara.
Other destinations are the Hokianga Harbour and Opononi, Ngawha springs with its hot volcanic pools to relax in, and Waipoua Forest with the biggest Kauri Tree New Zealands.

Please notify us prior to coming on farm or going for a walk across farmland. The farm sheds in particular and all farm machinery are out of bounds for any visitors for safety reasons.... unless we are accompanying you. Please adhere to our rules as our farm is a workplace with multiple hazards! We are very open to showing you around and explaining what we do, but do not take responsibility for anything happening beyond our knowlege or without our consent.

This is certainly a cosy farmhouse, despite one night of wild winds and rain, we were snug as a bug. Very comfy and relaxing. Beautifully scenic, surrounded by rolling hills, this is an escape. You do need your own supplies though, so stock up in Dargaville.
