Nicely set up for us (towels and chocolates on each bed etc). However, was not as clean as I would have anticipated given the charge included an amount for cleaning. The dishwasher didn't work and even though it had beds to sleep 10, it really isn't large enough for that -4 beds in the lounge made it very cramped and meant the lounge chairs were too close to the big screen TV to watch. The view over the ocean is lovely. A shame the gas fire wasn't in working order as was cold enough to need it.
Very basic in terms of comfort - no side table in bedrooms, no small table in lounge area, 5 out of 12 light bulbs in living area not working, unable to put words up on tv for my 95 year old mother as no remote supplied - felt the house was for owner's convenience rather than guests in some ways
As mentioned in the info folder at the house, the reason there are no longer any remote controls is because people keep stealing them. And when there were remotes there, people would mess with the settings, and then ring up and complain that the tv doesn't work. We'd have to call someone out to look at it. So in order to keep costs as reasonable as possible, we have included very clear instructions on how to use the tv, instead of constantly replacing remotes/making call-outs.
The locality and the view is great .Unfortunately this property has obviously has poor tenants in the past by the documentation in the house. However, a TV without the remote is not acceptable. Empty bedrooms without bedside tables and not even pepper and salt was disappointing. Door handles that don't work, at least 2. I rent houses myself and know how frustrating it can be but we can't treat everyone to the lowest common denominator re tenants.
