The location was excellent for the holiday I was looking for - so near and yet 'out in the country'. It was great following the changing of the tides and being able to walk on the foreshore and watch the birdlife. The house is very accommodating and provides many points of interest with the items that the owners have collected over time. The location would also provide a good base for exploring the Kaipara area as it is close to SH 1. A very enjoyable week in a piece of rural Northland.
What an iconic house. from the moment you enter you will feel love and energy. great view over the lake great design inside with lots of decoration which make the house like a museum, believe me, you can spend whole the day inside the house to admire wonderful decorations. it's modern/comfortable in the middle of a farm which needs another day to explore. we will definitely come back as there were lots of things we sure we missed. thanks for sharing this piece of jewelry with others to admire
We had the honour of staying at Kotare House for three nights and enjoyed every moment. The ever changing Kaipara inlet view, the peace and tranquility, the warming fireplace, comfy beds and fully equipped kitchen made for a magical stay. Our party of four returned to Auckland well rested. A big thank you.
Fantastic house with amazing views in a peaceful location. We had a great long weekend here in a house much larger than you get a sense of from the photos. The second bedroom is in its own wing more or less. Kitchen very well equipped with all you'd ever need. Hope to be back at some stage.
