Bach or holiday home | Kaiteriteri | #33763
Penguins Nest is a very private property, sheltered by lush grounds of beautiful shrubs and flowers. Situated in a quiet cul-de-sac but only minutes away from all the amenities. Completely re-furbished & renovated in time for summer 2015/16. It retains the charm and character of a loved family home. First time, ever offered as an exclusive holiday stay. Named after the Little Blue penguins that regularly nest under the garden shed !
From the garden a winding path leads down through the bush to Tapu Bay a lovely sandy beach, warm & safe to swim, with flounder, cockles & mussels for a feed Then caves and interesting rock pools for the kids and great fishing off the point too. House and garden views are spectacular, ever changing as the tide laps gently at the golden sand. A peaceful cul-de-sac of trees and bird-life. Yet only a stone’s throw from the bustle of Kaiteriteri. Here you'll find water-sports, mini-golf, a health spa with vegetarian dining, a couple more excellent restaurants and water-taxi’s that can whisk you to the Abel Tasman Park.
A Mountain Bike Park and the Taste Tasman Cycle Trail on the doorstep, follows the coast from Nelson to Kaiteriteri. Golf at several courses around the region. Motueka, has 2 cinemas, a great choice of leisure shops, two supermarkets, with many tasty restaurants & cafes. The coast and rivers provide excellent sea or trout fishing.
A visit to Golden Bay is a must, enjoy the lovely, old style town of Takaka. Just beyond town is Pupu Springs, the largest fresh-water spring in the southern hemisphere. Before you reach Takaka, hang a left, to catch a salmon at Anatoki Salmon Farm, the café will smoke your catch in a choice of styles. Spend a while at Wharariki Beach, it's huge caves, sand dunes and rock formations, are one of our favourite spots. If you’re lucky you’ll see baby seals playing in the rock pools. After a busy day sightseeing you can come home to relax in a really lovely home, pour a wine and swim in the pool.

Amazing property! Spacious, comfortable, great for sharing with another family and great for kids! Gorgeous views and lots to do nearby. Beach is steps away and Kayaks available with house. Highly recommend!
Couldn't have found a more comfortable or satisfactory house for 4 couples to have a 76th birthday get-together. It was cosy and warm for the cooler weather, and cool and airy when hot outside. Masses of books to choose from if we ran out of conversation!! Disappointed that the weather wasn't quite hot enough to heat the water in the gorgeous pool - but lovely to sit beside it for evening drinks and nibbles.
