Feeling tired and in need of a break? Want to get away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life? Maybe you want a romantic weekend? To just chill out? Or perhaps a base while you fish in the Firth of Thames?
If any of these sound like you - or if you just want to try somewhere new - then La Petite Maison de la Mer (the little house by the sea) could be all you need and more!
Wake up in the morning after a great night's sleep in the top quality Posturepedic Decadence bed. Once your ears have accustomed to no traffic noise, take a look out the bedroom window at the majestic bushclad ranges and listen to the resounding birdsong. When you're ready, wander out to the kitchen and make a cuppa. While the jug boils, open the drapes and be amazed at the spectacular views over the glistening Firth of Thames - see how many boats you can spot. Then, enjoy your cuppa while sitting outside - if you're lucky the quail will be frolicking beside you on the patio!
Once you're fed and watered, sit back and plan your day. Maybe you want to relax - there are books and games for you to choose from, a small library of DVDs and a 42 inch TV, and plenty of comfortable funky retro furniture to sit on!
If you're feeling more adventurous though, there are plenty of options available! Start by taking a stroll through the cool bush down to the lovely little Otuturu Creek. If you feel like going a little further, why not walk down to the Ruamahunga Bay beach. If that's not enough, the beaches at Waiomu and Tapu are only a couple of minutes drive away. While there, why not pop into the wonderful Waiomu Beach Cafe, or Tapu's Royal Oak Tavern. Thames is just 12km south too.
Of course with boat-parking on site and a boat ramp at the bottom of the road, you may wish to spend the day fishing the Firth - there are plenty of snapper if you know the secret spots!
So there you have it: La Petite Maison de la Mer. The little house with so many options on offer. Which will you choose?
