Cottage | Hokitika | #34432
The cottage is 22k from Hokitika and was built in the 1950's for the farmer's father on a small terrace to keep it high and dry. Beautiful original wooden floors throughout complement the rustic and tasteful decor. The previous Dutch owners added unique features. The covered deck was built to the sun and allows all weather outdoor living with fine mountain views. One of New Zealand's special places, the Hokitika Gorge Scenic Reserve, is 10 minutes away as is the character filled Kokatahi pub and cafe. Tourists on the way to the Gorge, farm machinery and milk tankers zing past the cottage on a long straight section of road adding a level of interest because of their randomness. Tanker spotting is one of the owner's favorite activities. Owner has 7 years previous experience on bookabach with property #7836 in Kaikoura. A discount is available to renters who stay at both properties.

Nice rural location, easy to get to Hokitika Gorge & not far to some harder walks. Finding information on garbage and recycling disposal was a challenge but eventually we found the waste transfer station on outskirts of Hokitika town.
This was simply the loveliest cottage we stayed at during our week long holiday. The house was tidy and quaint. It had everything we needed to be comfortable and cosy. The beautiful surrounds were peaceful and tranquil. The rivers clear, and grass so so green. We highly recommend this little bit of paradise. Ralph, Ali, Jon, and Marta
