it's been a silk purse in its day, and is being restored, so shabby chic at present. Reclining in the "Palm Room" on the comfiest leather recliner ever, listening to Roberta Flack on the turntable whilst sipping a beer and watching my son knocking around in the front yard with a soccer ball surrounded by gorgeous rhododendron's is my idea of a fab holiday! Easy access to everywhere - Bluff, Queens Park, the bottle store (no wine in supermarkets in Invercargill!).
Fantastic location on main road in to invercargill. The photos dont do it justice. Its bigger than expected &better. Quirky house with great big lounge, perfect for socialising, excellent kitchen & formal dining room which was nice. Warm with heat pump & bedrooms have heaters. Off street parking, close to amenities. Perfect for a group. only downfall was the water pressure/hotwater in bathrooms which was fairly average but Im sure that can be dealt with in the near future.
The house is large and has the potential to be a great holiday home. It's in a great location with large rooms and high ceilings. However it is tired and needs a fair bit of work doing. Some of the carpets are worn or missing. The paintwork in the bedrooms is stained. The bathrooms are ok but one has a cracked sink and the en suite has the missing carpet due to the leaking toilet cistern. Overall the house is in need of a 'do up' which the owner freely admits. Just be aware before you book.
Thank you for your feedback, as mentioned the house is in original state as previous owner lived in for 45 years. This home is a work in progress being only recently purchased, recent work has been finished on roof repairs hence the stains on paintwork. Toilet has now been fixed and have been on lookout for another period sink for the bathroom (minor crack),
