Together with your favourite people, we invite you to base yourself at the historic cottage on our scenic Marlborough sheep and cattle station.

Longpoint delivers you the features of a Farmstay, plus the privacy and comfort of your own self-catering accommodation. Your cottage is a large, carefully restored, 1860’s villa, tucked away across the paddock from the farm owners, yet close enough to see the comings and goings of the farm and to step outside and enjoy some of the many activities on your doorstep.

The Cottage sleeps up to twelve people. It’s perfect for family getaways or groups of friends.

Whether you’re interested in outdoor activities like day walks, mountain biking or horse trekking (byo horse), simple relaxation like swimming and enjoying the farm activities, you’re going to love it here. Or you can just use the cottage as your base and do your own thing.

Just beyond the farm gate there are plenty of other things to do in the area, including the Saw Cut Gorge walk, visiting Yealands CarboNZeroCERTTM winery or the Lake Grassmere salt works and Cape Campbell lighthouse. We’re just 40 minutes drive from Blenheim for a wine trail, or 1 hour to Kaikoura for Whale watching (make sure you visit the baby seals at Ohau point on your way).

NOTE; WiFi is available from the main farm house if required and a signal can be accessed from the garden aprox 50 meters from the cottage A washing machine is also available from that farm house

  • Fantastic spot, exactly like the pictures

Fantastic spot, exactly like the pictures. Stunning scenery! Very clean and tidy home, so cosy. Kevin and Carol were amazing! We are definitely going to go back and do the hikes that Kevin told us about :) Thanks again for a wonderful weekend.

  • It's a very casual style, comfortable accommodation

It's a very casual style, comfortable accommodation. If you are after a shiny, glitzy hotel experience, then look elsewhere. These are relaxed, friendly farm folk who enjoy generously sharing their special piece of New Zealand with their guests. Highly recommended experience. We were a group of 3 families, kids ranging from 5 to 14, gathering to catch up over a long weekend. Perfect.

Great location, lots of history, near beach , walks and bike riding. House could do with a bit of maintenance but we found it perfect for our needs. Thanks!

  • The history of this house and its family is fascinating and illustrated...

The history of this house and its family is fascinating and illustrated with photos on the hallway wall. The house itself is set in its own garden on the farm and is very private. The main rooms and bedrooms are very comfortable although the kitchen would benefit from updating. The "coastal views from adjacent hills" are probably stunning but we didn't do the long climb up the hills, instead we drove the 5km down the road to Ward Beach which was charming. We had a great time.
