Bach or holiday home | The Catlins | #34561
Jacks Bay is in the heart of the Catlins, and is 10 minutes drive from the main town of Owaka. It is an ideal location as a base for your exploring, or you can relax and stay in the bay itself, with a great walk to the Jacks Bay Blowhole, spotting the seals and penguins coming up on the beach, through to fishing and gathering Paua or Mussels. The beach is also ideal for swimming and body boarding with a gentle slope making it safe for young and old.
The house is the classic kiwi crib. Tidy and warm, with some quirky touches, everyone that goes to Wai Wuri falls in love with it.
The large main bedroom has one queen bed, and a set of bunks if needed. Lying in bed, you get the perfect view out over the beach. The bedroom also contains a second TV and a Playstation, letting the kids relax after a busy day, and allowing Mum and Dad to have some quiet time soaking in the sunset in the lounge or on the deck.
The second smaller bedroom has a bunk, with a double bed at the base, and a single at the top.
The shelves are stacked with books and games, as well as TV / DVD with freeview and a stack of DVD's, and a new wood fire will ensure if the weather turns bad, you will be cosy and entertained.
We have set this up as our ideal holiday home. We are sure you will love it as much as we do.

such a lovely location. the bay is really very beautiful. we stayed in Spring before the main tourist season so it was also very private for us. the bach is homely and comfortable and well equipped with everything you could need, we would definitely like to go back another time. the only very minor negative was that it did take us a few minutes to find the water pump in the basement to turn it on, because it wasnt very visible behind some sports gear. but maybe we are just not very practical.
