Enjoy the tranquility of this rural setting that is minutes from Wanganui's town center. Located half way between Durie Hill and Fordell Village.
This home boasts awesome indoor and outdoor flow, with covered and uncovered outdoor areas. Enjoy the magic of the Brazier where a good yarn can be spun.
Cool winter days are cosy here with the Stanley cooker providing central heating via radiators located throughout the home. Cook using the cooker or the electric oven.
Durie Hill is where you can climb the amazing War Memorial tower and take in the 360 degree views of Wanganui. See how the mighty Wanganui River is situated in our beautiful city and how it meets the sea. Stunning sunsets and views of the mountains are fantastic on those magical clear days.
Kowhai Park is Wanganui's famous playground for children and the young at heart! Free Entry into this wonderland of Nursery Rhyme swings and slides. A tot town rail road and a flying fox are here too. A small charge for the train ride. Take your togs/swimwear for the water feature!
Drive down into Okoia Village and head to Gordon's Park Reserve, this peaceful reserve is small and has a boardwalk through a lowland forest of Matai, Totara, Titoki, Tawa, Kowhai and Kahikatea trees as well as Native birds.
South Beach is approximately 15 - 20 minutes drive just further on from Wanganui Airport. This beach is enjoyed by locals for fishing, horse riding, motorbike riding and swimming (although no Life Guards are posted at this beach). Castlecliff and Kai Iwi beaches are also easily accessible and have Life Guards present in peak summer months.
Take a journey on the Waimarie, Wanganui's coal fired Paddle Steamer or the Wairua, these boats from yesteryear take journeys to Upokongaro and provide you with a history of Wanganui's river transportation history.
There is much to do in this wonderful city of Wanganui. Do allow yourself ample time to enjoy it as much as we do.

This property is not just a holiday house, it's a real home away from home. The house is very cosy, clean and private. The rooms are a nice size with comfortable beds. It was nice to have the animals around and the fresh eggs from the chooks were a real bonus!
House was amazing had everything we needed and more plenty of space for us and the kids they enjoyed the animals and just their own little world thank you Prue and Michael for sharing your little piece of heaven with us!!!
I Oh wow - this place is amazing. not too far out of town but enough to be peaceful and relaxing. The owners/family are very friendly. The kids feel in love with all the animals and to this day are talking about Carl and Missy (Horses). The house is so spacious and has everything you would need. I would highly reccommend and if given the chance will definetly be back.
