Description

  • Within 5 min walk: The Waterfront, Oriental Bay beach, Te Papa, popular cafes and restaurants
  • Eclectic Cuba Street a ten minute stroll away, and the entertainment district right on your doorstep
  • Beautifully decorated, with spacious well appointed bedrooms, radiator heating and free wifi

Originally owned by the Apostleship of the Sea, this stunning colonial villa housed weary sailors who spent their time recuperating (much whiskey was drunk in this house!). Newly restored to a very high standard, this beautiful villa is luxuriously decorated, with gorgeous linens, comfortable beds, a beautiful bathroom, and a fully equipped kitchen. The apartment is a sun trap during the summer, and the radiator heating provides a cosy winter retreat.

The villa is in an amazing central location if you want to walk home throughout the day to rest, or to change before heading out for the evening. It is hard to believe this quiet suburban street is in the middle of town! Better yet, the picturesque Oriental Bay beach and Wellington waterfront are both just a minutes walk from your door.

Within TWO minutes walk:

- MAIN ENTERTAINMENT STRIP: Courtenay Place nightlife, bars, cafes, restaurants (four of the most popular eateries and bars in Wellington are at the end of our street - great food, great people watching!)

- THE WATERFRONT (walks, buskers, bars, pubs, cafes and the popular Sunday market)

- ORIENTAL BAY BEACH (swimming and cafes)

- The famous EMBASSY THEATRE (cinema)

- BATS THEATRE (popular for live plays)

- TE PAPA National Museum

- BUSH WALKS around the town belt

- New World supermarket

- one of the main bus stops in the city (although you are unlikely to need public transport).

The beautiful fully tiled bathroom and large steel bath tub come complete with hair and body products, there is also one hairdryer in each room. There is a separate laundry with a washer and dryer, including laundry powders.

  • We had a wonderful long weekend in her townhouse with some friends

We had a wonderful long weekend in her townhouse with some friends. It was the perfect retreat and location to the city. We could easily walk into town, Oriental Parade, or just to the bar across the road, and return to the toasty warm apartment. We also loved the thoughtful touches, like providing some beer and wine for purchase, and complimentary basics. We'll be recommending Emily's place to all our visitors!

  • I highly recommend you stay here

I highly recommend you stay here. You can't beat the location. You're right in town but on a quiet side street, so it can't be more ideal. The best food in Wellington is right on your door step and you're a very short walk to Oriental Bay. They've done a luxurious renovation - the place is stunning!

  • Such a wonderful stay

Such a wonderful stay. This beautiful period home was warm and inviting with lovely interior finishes and little extras like Netflix. The location is just wonderful - a quiet street yet only a short walk and you are at Wellington Harbour with the Museum at your doorstep. A wonderful supermarket just a stone throw away and lots of cafe's and restaurants. I could not fault anything - would highly recommend - you will not be disappointed.

  • We feel so fortunate to have found this perfect apartment

We feel so fortunate to have found this perfect apartment. A block away we found two of the best restaurants in Wellington a well as the amazing Chippery who delivered fresh fish. We were within walking distance to the waterfront, Te Papa - it really was an ideal location. The apartment was equipped with wine, an array of spices, etc. as well as bath products. It truly was a perfect several weeks!
