Waiheke is a jewel of a place for a holiday break, or base for special celebration groups. It is conveniently situated between Little Oneroa and Palm Beach, a few mins drive to amenities, or a pleasant walk to the beaches and Oneroa village.

The upper home has decking all round which is great for outdoor dining in good weather, and views to the far side of the island, over native bush. Kereru and tui add interest and beauty. We may be able to offer the extra 1 bedroom flat, also beautifully appointed if available - no guarantees of this.

Like most Waihekeans we care for our beautiful, natural environment, so please; no smoking, loud parties, and no harsh ingredients in our waste water systems. We do have eco friendly dishwashers though, in the flat and in the house, and a wood fire stove in the main living room of the house.

It is a few mins by car to beautiful Oneroa Village, where you can stroll from arty shop to arty shop, or stop for refreshments at any of the several cafes. There is an excellent wine shop, two general foodstores, and many gift shops.

Above the shopping centre is our excellent art centre, with gallery, library and a fabulously cute movie theatre which shows the best current films. For eating out, there are great restaurants in the village and of course some of the world winners in restaurants are scattered around the island. (Check the internet for options!)

If our little old car is not suficient, Taxis are prevalent on the island, but you can also use Sealink service to bring your own car from either Half Moon Bay or Wynyard Wharf downtown Auckland. Bus stops are nearby if you prefer to use them and drivers are renowned for their friendliness and helpful advice.

Really, one could go on and on about the beautiful walks, the beaches, the art galleries, the cafes and the ease with which one can find and love them. No wonder our island is now rated one of the top ten (last count 6) of best tourist islands in the world!

Special conditions: The house (including flat) is up a drive, so it would be difficult for some less mobile person/s. It is no problem for most people and no problem in a vehicle. Smoking is not welcome, but if guests absolutely must - only outside and please be careful - natural bush and wood everywhere! No stubs to be left! The home is not suitable for young children.
