This is our home and we love it. We love the lifestyle it offers us and are pleased to offer it to others. If you wish to have a stress free holiday away with your animal family, then this cottage is the place for you. Partially fenced so that the animals have their own run, you can rest on the deck and drink in The songs of the tuis and bellbirds in the trees. There is also a dog run, fully fenced attached to the garage if you need a secure place for your pet. You and your animals will enjoy the sun drenched deck. In summer, throw all the doors open, and in winter an outdoor brazier is a lovely experience. if star gazing is something you enjoy, the night sky of waitati will not disappoint.

Comfortable, warm cottage with rustic features, this place is a simple place to relax and get away from the stressors of life. With slightly wonky floors (!) ,mismatched doors, a perfectly functional 70s style Bach feel kitchen and low ceilings this house has bags of character and has an easy care, stress free kiwi Bach feel.

In winter, there can be snow on the back lawn, and in the warmer months you can pick apples off the tree, pick up walnuts and sit in the chairs on the deck and enjoy the view. If you like birds, the this is the place for you! At night you can hear moreporks, during the day you can see all kinds of beautiful bird life from tuis, bellbirds, shags, parrots...

Situated close to Dunedin (only a 15 min drive away) and also handy to pristine beaches such as long beach, purakanui, Osbourne and doctors point, you may get the chance to see penquins and seals in their own natural environment. Doctors point beach is literally a 5 min drive away and is very dog friendly. Low tide you can make it all the way around to Osbourne beach. Great fishing spot, apparently there are trout to be had in the estuary at times.

Orokonui bird sanctuary is a close attraction, there is a handy shop up the road and the nursery has a stunning cafe.

  • We thought the beach was a bit further to go to

We thought the beach was a bit further to go to . Than the ad for the bach had suggested. Top dollar for a bach of this age and condition.

I loved the location, the homely feel and awesome outdoor areas but paper and kindling left for a fire would have been welcoming. However, as someone who ditched chemical cleaning products 10 years ago, the assualt of air freshener & cleaning products on arrival made me nauseous and headachy (something that only happens around really toxic environments) and I had to open every window and door for 1/2 hour before I could tolerate it. This is why I won't recommend this bach to anyone.

  • House average at best when we arrived

House average at best when we arrived. Element on stove didn't work, I fixed that, you're welcome. Axe handle rotten and broke, bought you a new one, you're welcome. Updated firmware and removed extension cords on your router, worked flawlessly after that, you're welcome. Unclogged your dishwasher and remounted the crooked sprayer so it now actually cleans dishes, you're welcome. Had to buy our own towels as some had mould and others were stinky. All knives blunt, sharpened some, you're welcome.

    Owner/manager responds:

House is as described and pictured. It is an older cottage, quaint and cosy. We make no illusions it is anything but. But it is our house and we love it. You didn't actually NEEd to update or fix wasn't your place...everything worked perfectly Fine before you came. And if we're being "thankful" thanks for leaving smashed bottles, your left over food and rotting meat in the bin for us to dispose of.
