Bach or holiday home | Wanganui Township | #35961
Positioned under the iconic Bastia Hill Tower in a peaceful neighbourhood overlooking the city where there are lots of great eateries and cafes, especially on the main street and near the river front. Whanganui has lots to do and see. If art it your thing there is the Sarjeant Art Gallery as well as a great collection of independent galleries and studios showcasing the amazing local talent. If you're into the outdoors you can take a river cruise on the Waimarie, or go for a walk at Bushy Park and see rare native bird life. There's the family friendly Kowhai Playground that's always a hit with kids, and right at the bottom of our hill. For sports there are events at Cooks gardens, and stock cars.
Just a 2 minute drive to the heart of the city, cafe's and visitor information centre. If you're keen, it would be about a 20 minute walk to town, but would be longer back up hill. A taxi from town will cost around $12-$15

Great location, easy to find. Good off-street parking, and close enough to the city. Beautiful rose garden AND a very friendly cat (Max) making a daily visit. My adult nieces especially loved the 1960s style. The lounge carpet was the same as I grew up with! Weather wasn't great but the house was warm and cosy.
Lovely views from the property. The fire was cosy and inviting. i loved the style of the house, the art, furniture etc It was comfortable and welcoming. There were loads of supplies in the cupboards and it felt like home. We rode our bikes into town and ate at some lovely local restaurants. We picked lemons from a tree down the road for G and Ts. We love Whanganui! The people are so warm and friendly:) Thank you for having us. xxx
