Description

  • Private, peaceful, and relaxing, a place to truly unwind
  • Close to Whanganui CBD
  • Warm & Cosy in winter

Positioned under the iconic Bastia Hill Tower in a peaceful neighbourhood overlooking the city where there are lots of great eateries and cafes, especially on the main street and near the river front. Whanganui has lots to do and see. If art it your thing there is the Sarjeant Art Gallery as well as a great collection of independent galleries and studios showcasing the amazing local talent. If you're into the outdoors you can take a river cruise on the Waimarie, or go for a walk at Bushy Park and see rare native bird life. There's the family friendly Kowhai Playground that's always a hit with kids, and right at the bottom of our hill. For sports there are events at Cooks gardens, and stock cars.

Getting Around

Just a 2 minute drive to the heart of the city, cafe's and visitor information centre. If you're keen, it would be about a 20 minute walk to town, but would be longer back up hill. A taxi from town will cost around $12-$15

Special conditions: Please be considerate and leave the place tidy on your departure.

  • Lovely retro bach

Lovely retro bach. We really enjoyed our stay. Wanganui is a great town with lots to do, good shopping and excellent cafes. We would highly recommend this bach if you have your own transport.

  • The house was large and well appointed and interesting in its design

The house was large and well appointed and interesting in its design. The view out over the city was outstanding. The location was excellent and only a few minutes drive from the city. We much appreciated being able to bring our dog with us. We'd be very happy to return and have already recommended it to others.

  • WOW

WOW. WOW. WOW. If you are looking for a place in Wanganui look no further. This is the most incredible house. By the end of the stay our group of friends were dreaming up ideas of how we could possibly buy this house thats how amazing it is. The position is great, plenty of space for 6 adults, fireplace and views back across Wanganui, the styling is amazing every piece in the house is considered right down to the teapot to honor the 1960s architecture. WE LOVED IT SO MUCH! Thanks so much Brian.
