Description

  • Enjoy all day sun, from breakfast on the sunny verandah, to relaxing on the deck in the evening.
  • Enjoy an easy walk into Mosgiel central shopping area and other facilities.
  • Quiet residential area just a stones throw from the main road.

This 1890s farm cottage has been extensively renovated for easy living but still retains the charm of the old cottage.

Mosgiel enjoys its own micro climate protected from the coastal winds and drizzle. The temperature is on averge 3-4 degrees warmer than Dunedin.

The property is in the heart of old Mosgiel, 5 minutes walk from numerous food outlets, supermarkets, cafes, second hand shopping and specialty stores.

50m to bus stop, from where the regular bus service can have you in central Dunedin in 15-20 minutes. The airport is 12 minutes in the opposite direction.

Enjoy all the facilities that Mosgiel and the Taieri plains have to offer. Swimming pool, Velodrome, Bowling Green, mountain and road cycling, great playground, the Taieri river, council dog park, sports fields a plenty and three gold courses on the outskirts of the town.

Countdown's newest supermarket is currently under construction behind the bus stop and will be super convenient for guests shopping needs. (Shopping trolley and reusable carry bags supplied for guests use).

Go further afield and explore the Taieri and beyond from this welcoming base. 10 minutes to Outram, 15 minutes down the road to Lake Waihola or Brighton Beach.

The section is fully fenced, child and dog friendly with edible garden at your disposal. Berries, vegies, rhubarb, beans, apples in season. The garden is still being developed but is designed to feed bees and humans alike.

The house itself is warm and cosy, usually heated but the sun but also has a wood fire, with firewood supplied, and a heat pump in the main bedroom for those frosty nights.

The third bedroom is a sleepout a few metres from the main house. It contains a double bed and small fridge with tea making facilities. (No plumbing)

Highchair and portacot supplied.

Whether you are visiting friends and family, on holiday, attending a sports event, or visiting on business, this is your ideal base.

Special conditions: This is a smoke free property. Suitable for children. Pets welcome, please bury doggy doos where the sign indicates.

There are plantations at the front and back yards with a garden at the side. 20-30 min drive from the airport and innumerable sheep and cow noticeable along the route. Cozy neighborhood with friendly locals and cafes serving quality foods. Overall, we had an enjoyable stay at the area.
