Bach or holiday home | Warrington Beach | #36138
Cedar Cottage In Warrington is the perfect place for a break from the city or as a base to explore Dunedin, the Otago Peninsula and surrounding coast.
The cedar shingled cottage, nestled in one acre of trees, is one of the original holiday houses ("cribs") built in Warrington during the mid twentieth century.
Designed by a Dunedin architect in the early 1950's as his family holiday home, the house has been owned and loved by three generations of the same family. The living room is lined with original plywood. In keeping with the character of the design a recent renovation has been completed this includes a double glazed master bedroom which is airy and light plus a new bathroom and modernised kitchen.
The charm of this small unspoilt seaside village continues to offer the perfect spot to unwind. Blueskin Bay, a 200m walk from the gate, provides access to the beach at low tide, or you can forage for mussels and cockles in the shallows of the channel in the Bay. Warrington Beach, regarded as one of the safest in the region, is a short walk and great for a gentle stroll or run (if you are lucky you may see dolphins in or just beyond the surf).
Within short driving distance are Orokonui Eco Sanctuary, Karitane beach and Dunedin. Or for a day trip up the coast, Riverstone Cafe or Fleurs Place, are well known for their gastronomic delights.

A lovely bach - with excellent, inspiring, and comforting design, inside and out. The facilities (kitchen and bath) are modern and great quality; the furniture throughout is top notch and a pleasure to look at no less; and the supplies included (kitchenware, games, videos, etc.) were great and satisfying. The setting is wonderful, including the garden and the location in Warrington. We were so glad to stay at Cedar Cottage. Cheers!
