5 stars plus, you have to be there to describe how much passion and love Carin has put together in this house. Every detail has been looked after. Great location for both winter (very short drive to Ruapehu) and looking forward to visiting the house during summer. Baby goats are awesome and very friendly. The house is really warm with superb decoration and a very efficient fireplace.

  • What a lovely little escape

What a lovely little escape. Loved the fire, decor, setting, meeting the 5 day old triplet kid goats and especially seeing the glow worms!!! A good spot to base ourselves for a visit to the snow.

My partner, our dog and I stayed for a week at Carin's Kereru Lodge, and I can't recommend it enough. The lodge is beautifully appointed, comfortable and peaceful - everything you need for a relaxed getaway. The fire was roaring away when we arrived, which was so appreciated, and we found it super easy with Kakahi's central location. Thanks so much for having us.

This property is beautiful in every way from its location, it's immediate surroundings to its beautifully handcrafted interior. It is warm, comfortable and a perfect spot for peace and quiet and a romantic escape. I would highly recommend it. I loved having the goats next door, the pig to say hello in the morning and free range chickens passing by. Well worth a visit. Most memorable.
