Apartment | Lyttelton | #36731
Nestled up the Lyttelton hills in the Black Kiwi, you can enjoy the sights and sounds of harbour vessels and local bird life from your private balcony overlooking the historic township and port.
The Black Kiwi is a private two bedroom guest apartment. The master bedroom looks out over the township and harbour, opens onto the balcony and includes a casual lounge/dining area. The second bedroom has the option of one or two singles or a California king bed. The compact kitchenette is fully equipped with fridge, microwave, toaster, panini maker, jug, French press and provisions for a continental breakfast. A private courtyard offers a large gas barbecue. The 80's glam bathroom has a separate toilet, two sinks, a double shower and a spa bath with a view.
Only 20 minutes from Christchurch, Lyttelton is home to a community of nearly 3,000. Quirky shops and award winning restaurants, cafes and pubs can be found along the main street. Convenience wise, we're equipped with a supermarket, organic food shop, chemist and liquor store, but no petrol station.
Every Saturday the vibrant Lyttelton Farmers Market fills London Street with artisan food makers, local growers, musicians, arts and crafters and second hand traders attracting regular enthusiasts and visitors.
Catch local music at the Wunderbar, Civil and Naval and Hell Fire Pubs. The Lyttelton Arts Factory (LAF) offers theatre, performance art and music.
Explore the enticing harbour and Quail Island by ferry. Have a swim in the bays dotted round the harbour.
Lyttelton's Port Hills are full of wonderful walking tracks including one just 50 metres from the Black Kiwi. The oldest and most well known track in Canterbury, the Bridle Path, is the route the first European settlers took to Christchurch after landing in Lyttelton in 1850. On a clear day the summit offers views over Lyttelton Harbour, Christchurch, the Canterbury Plains, the Kaikouras and the Southern Alps.

Although on the other side of the mountains in the nice and cosy Lyttelton, this house is still close to the center of Christchurch because of the tunnel. House has a beautiful view and is wonderfully decorated with beautiful stuff. Everything is there. Great bathroom with a view and nice beds. On the outside it is time for a paint though.
Beautiful location. Views of the harbour were priceless. Highly recommend. Hosts added lovely touches with juice, milk and basket of fruit awaiting our arrival. Thanks Jemima and Sasha.
