A lovely sunny cottage nestled in an area of native bush and garden with harbour views. It is in a quiet part of the township, walking distance to the hospital and three minutes drive to the car ferry and shopping area. Rawene is an historic town known as the car ferry town where the vehicular ferry departs on a regular basis to transport travelers across to the north side of the harbour. Rawene is one of the oldest settlements in New Zealand. It has a small supermarket, cafe, garage and petrol station, takeaways, art and craft galleries, chemist and hotel. Your hosts are locals and can help make your stay a memorable one and can share their knowledge about Hokianga's interesting bi-cultural history. Meals and tours by arrangement. BBQ available (one off cleaning and gas charge)

Rawene is 15 minutes from Opononi made famous by Opo the dolphin in the 1950s, 45 minutes from Tane Mahuta, the majestic kauri tree in Waipoua forest, and a 15 minute ferry crossing away from the historic township of Kohukohu. It is roughly an hour across to the Bay of Islands and just over two hours drive to Te Rerenga Wairua (Cape Reinga).

What a lovely couple and beautiful cottage it is! The photos do not do justice. Enjoyed the quiet and peace of location and amazing view! Small details are perfect! Would definitely stay again if passing through in future. All the best Paul and Claire!

A lovely cottage in a beautiful garden with views of the harbour and ferry. Everything you could imagine you may require has already thoughtfully been provided. This cottage exceeded our expectations and we hope to be able to return soon for a longer sojourn.

We had a nice stay with two children (2y, 11months). Very nice view over the bay. Thanks for the fresh things in the fridge and the fresh fruit and flowers. We would like to come back and have a longer stay at that great place.
