Cottage | Hawea Flat | #37253
Within our region you will find two of the most stunning lakefronts NZ has to offer, Lake Wanaka & Lake Hawea. Surrounded by majestic mountain ranges.
Other attraction's for locals and travelers alike are Cardrona, Snowfarm & Treblecone Ski fields.
Outside of winter you will find great hiking and biking trails (Cardrona has just opened their downhill mountain biking as of summer 2015!) kayaking & watersports.
Other interests include vineyards, golf, climbing, hunting, fishing, disc golf, horse trekking, geocaching, quad biking and delectable eateries ... Some of my favourites include Francesca's, Burrito Craft, The Cow, Florence's, Federal Diner & Relishes. Another hot spot is Kai Whakapai (at the Wanaka waterfront)- great eats, friendly banter and locally crafted beer and wine.
Close to home is the Hawea Golf Club, Hawea Conservation Areas, suitable for hikes for all fitness levels. Hawea River Track is a popular one for walkers and cyclists which includes Hawea Whitewater Park- the park provides two river-waves for kayakers, bodyboarders, surfers, and rafters to surf, play and train on.
Should you fancy a meal, or a cheeky drink to whet your appetite, there is always the local. Hawea Hotel, runs a complimentary coach service for pick ups and drop offs

The property is new and needs a bit more landscaping, but the flowers at the front were lovely. We liked the location a bit out of town, as we had a hire car. If you were backpacking, it could be too remote &/ or quiet. Everything we needed was there and there were really nice little extras also. The internet worked! (unlike many other places that claimed to have it) The smoke alarm went off a lot, even when we had windows & doors open
This property is located in a quiet rural area, with great views. The Rustic Bungalow has a very comfortable bed and lounge area, and the bathroom and kitchen are clean and tidy. Would definitely stay here again and recommend to other travellers.
