Cottage | Napier City | #37362
Our brick cottage is quite unique!
Built in the late 1800's and was reportedly built for the manager of the
brick works that exsisted just down the road. There are a couple of
wonderful photos on the wall showing Napier pre earthquake with our
little cottage sitting across the road from the sea. The earthquake changed
the coastline and the sea is now no longer just across the road and is now
a 10 min walk away.
Being built of old bricks the downstairs has a great warmth and character
about it. The dining, kitchen and living space is downstairs, as is the second
bedroom and a outdoor partially enclosed room. The dining area has
seating for 4, the living area has a couch and 2 arm chairs. It is warm and
cosy with a art deco feel.
The kitchen is well equipped with a fridge, microwave, toaster, and all your
normal kitchen wares, however there is no stove or hot plates, there is however
a gas BBQ in the outside room along with a BBQ table and chairs.
The downstairs bedroom has 2 king size single beds, it is a bit of a squeeze
but very comfortable. The master bedroom is upstairs, accessed via a spiral staircase
which the tall and phyically challenged may find tricky. A king size bed, 2 chairs,
a table, TV with Freeview and a large selection of DVD's.
This bedroom is a loft so ceilings are low on the sides.
All beds are made up with lovely fresh cotton linen.
There is no Wi-Fi but excellent cell phone reception so hotspot works very well.
The bathroom has a shower, toilet, hand basin and washing machine. There is
a clothesline outside.
We love our little cottage as it is just a little different and close to all of what
Napier has to offer. We hope you love it too.
Special conditions: As the upstairs loft master bedroom has low sides, tall people may find the access off the spiral stairs restricting. I'm 5'10 and it's not a problem. Once in the room there is more than enough space to freely walk around.

A very cute and quirky cottage which very much appealed to us. Everything was well thought out and provided for use if needed. It is tucked away, but close walking distance to restaurants and shops. We will definitely be recommending the Brick Cottage to others and re-booking should we return to Napier.
A lovely, unique little cottage! Technically walkable from town, although I chose to drive, it is quirky, cool, spacious and has lots of cute touches. I loved the personal welcome on the blackboard and having Ella Fitzgerald waft from the CD player throughout the building. The art deco feel of the town was echoed through the beautiful pieces of furniture and the artwork on the walls. The outdoor space was unusual and lovely, and I was grateful for the breakfast bits left in the fridge for me.
